JOHN M. BIGLER is the former Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Long Island Alzheimer's Association. He was the President of the Board of Directors of the Five Towns Senior Center for the past six years and is an Associate Board Member at Parker Geriatric Institute. He writes a monthly article for the Suffolk Times. He has offices in Wantagh, Bronx, Forest Hills and Southold.

He is a 1976 graduate of St. John's University School of Law and was admitted to practice in the State of New York at the May, 1977 term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York in and for the Second Judicial Department. He was the first VISTA attorney employed by Nassau/Suffolk Law Services. He was then Senior Staff Attorney in charge of the Babylon office of Law Services until 1980 when he left for private practice. He was admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern District of New York.

He is the Past President of the Board of Directors of the Five Towns Senior Center. He is the former Chairman of the Nassau County Bar Association Elder Law Committee, a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a member of the New York State Social Security Disability Bar Association, a member of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law Committee, on the legal board of the Long Island Arthritis Foundation and a member of the New York City Alzheimer's Association.

He is a frequent lecturer before attorneys, accountants and other professionals as well as student and senior citizen groups. He has written articles for the NAELA (The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys), NOSSCR (National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives ), and the Alzheimer's Association.
